Stream of Nature Ngondro Informational Meeting—Online
Friday, February 7th: 9.00am to 11.00am, Pacific
This is the first gathering of our Ngondro group. Our text is a new form of this traditional practice with a particular focus on mutual appreciation and love between the practitioner, the lineage teachers, and our environment--the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space.
Ngondro is traditionally considered the foundational practice for entering the Vajrayana, and it is also considered a complete practice in and of itself.
There are five parts of this practice that are repeated over time: prostration; mantra recitation; mandala offering; and guru yoga. Taking of refuge is woven through those four. These practices are a powerful way to move energy and invite ourselves deeper into the true nature of reality.
Our Ngondro form here at Wisdom Sun is called Stream of Nature Ngondro, emphasizing the loving support we are continually receiving from the phenomenal world around us. We receive this support from the unbiased foundation of earth, from the fluid, cleansing property of water, from the warmth and transforming quality of fire, the invigorating and refreshing wind, and the open accommodation of space.
As we are supported by these elements, we also offer our support and appreciation back to them. Through this practice, we heal our relationship with our Mother Earth and return our experience of the Earth and all the elements to the realm of the sacred.
Another cycle of mutual love and support is created through our golden connection with lineage--a powerful container within which we can let go of any old, limiting ideas about ourselves and step into our true nature--our innate qualities of warmth and loving-kindness; strength and potency; and wisdom, our sense of knowing.
