Wisdom Council
Our Wisdom Council was formed in 2023 to support the operations of the Wisdom Sun community.
The council meets every two weeks to reflect on our own practices, how we can help each other to further our own wisdom journeys, and what practical steps we can each take to support Wisdom Sun’s offerings to our community and beyond.
In true Wisdom Sun spirit, we sing, move, meditate, and discuss what is coming up in our own lives and our inspiration on the path of practice. It is important that these meetings are not just about “business as usual” but actually reflect the reasons Wisdom Sun exists—to foster supportive relationship, to help heal wounds, and to reveal the incredible potential we each have as beings manifesting in this realm together.
We also discuss potential programming; what is needed to provide that programming; and reaching out to the community and beyond through offerings and resources shared on this website, in our newsletter, our Journal postings, and other written and recorded offerings. Each person has their unique blend of qualities that they offer to this process and we share the work in ways that reflect that and that also support growth in areas that each person is interested in expanding into.
Currently, this group is facilitated by Rose and includes, Rebecca, Chelsea, Jon, and Zoe. Please learn more about them below.
If you are inspired to support Wisdom Sun’s mission, please contact us. We welcome any and all ideas, questions, and inspirations.

Rebecca Crall
I have been traveling the Buddhist path in one form or another for over 20 years. I was first introduced to Wisdom Sun in 2010 and reconnected with the group in 2020. Since that time, I have grown my practice through the Wisdom Sun tradition and am so honored to help this community evolve and grow. I have also spent the last 15+ years working in international development, peacebuilding and conflict transformation. In this time, I have worked with and learned from communities and cultures on six continents and over 35 countries. These life affirming encounters have strengthened my love and belief in our shared basic humanity and deepened my commitment to working with others as we uncover our true, enlightened selves.
I also tread the family path as a wife and mother to two young children. On this intimate journey, I am constantly reminded that our closest relationships provide us with our greatest challenges and our greatest teachings.
I am committed and inspired to grow a meaningful connection to and understanding of Dharma in the West. Our modern 21st century lives calls for a deliberate approach to creating slower, more nourishing and contemplative way of being in the world.
Chelsea Points
I am a rabbit mom, a nature enthusiast, an artist, a paralegal, and a meditation practitioner. I have been studying Mahamudra with the Wisdom Sun community since 2010. I have also helped coordinate several of the Wisdom Sun retreats since 2012. Through my practice with this group, I have learned to be with even my most tumultuous experiences in a loving way. I feel very grateful to have found such a heartfelt and genuine community to grow with.
I have always felt deeply nourished and inspired by nature. I find hiking and camping to be very healing and magical experiences. More recently I have begun to study plants and fungi. When I slow down on a hike to identify these beautiful little beings it feels exciting. Instead of just walking from one point to the next, this allows me to playfully weave my way through a trail. I feel like this connects me to nature in an intimate way.
Since I was a child, I have been drawn to philosophy and human rights. I had a very difficult childhood which has given me a fierce compassion for those who are vulnerable. My deepest aspiration is to try to help balance systems of injustice and inequality. Especially in systems where there is an abuse of power. I feel most passionate about women's, LGBTQ+, the unhoused, and racial equality. I would love to see a world in which everyone has the support they need to heal and flourish.
Jon Ferrer
I am a second-generation Filipino American born and raised in San Francisco, California. As a father and a husband, I find that my creative, physical and spiritual practices help me create a healthy space for my family. I find meditation in all facets of my life; trail running, playing with sound recordings, cooking in the kitchen, and writing in my journal. These activities also enable me to commune with nature and the spirit world.
My creative nature led me to Wisdom Sun—I was the chef for Golden Bridges, the school that Rose's son attends, and where we first met. I also often hiked around McClaren Park with Oliver and his class. I grew up in the Catholic Faith and, prior to Wisdom Sun, my only formal meditation training was with Transcendental Meditation (TM).
I learned about Buddhism as a teenager, gravitated toward the Beat poets, and picked up bits and pieces of Dharma practice from various people and places. Many years later, in 2020, I attended my first meditation gathering with Wisdom Sun by Zoom. That was when I realized that one can only get so far on their own in learning about Buddhist practices and teachings, and that a group setting is needed to deepen the process of awakening.
My hope is to be an example and another channel of diversity to help others find a similar path to self-worth. The practice of meditation has been a continuous part of revealing and healing fundamental aspects of suffering in my life. I believe that Buddhism and meditation are just a few of many instruments available to anyone and everyone for health, happiness, and well-being.
Zoe Morris
I currently live in Los Angeles, CA, with my partner Jeremy and three children Theo, Uma, and Maya. I am a performance artist and love to dance, write poetry, and act. Born naturally curious and wondering, “Why?", I grew interested in Buddhism and, after college, moved to Palpung Thubten Choling Monastery, New York. There I spent 10 years studying and practicing Tibetan Buddhism and completed the traditional three year retreat in the Karma Kagyu lineage.
At this point in my life, my dharma practice centers around my relationships, and incorporating my understanding of truth in my daily life, art, and interactions.
I have had the gift of working with both Rose and Ari, and through them, the Wisdom Sun community. It brings me great joy to continue deepening my experience within this warm and insightful community.
